About Our Interns

Strong relationship therapists often begin developing core skills early in life through personal reflection, compassion, and curiosity about how people connect. Marriage and Family Therapy training adds structure, theory, and supervised sessions that shape those qualities into professional skill. Relationship Academy MI selects interns who show a natural awareness of relational dynamics and an interest in helping couples and families strengthen connection.

Supervision from licensed Marriage and Family Therapists supports thoughtful, grounded care.

Laina Glaeser is a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy candidate. She is passionate about creating a warm, non-judgmental, and collaborative space where clients can feel supported as they explore the root of their struggles, strengthen relationships, and navigate life’s transitions with care and understanding.

Laina works with individuals, couples, families, and children ages 6–12, as well as adolescents, young adults, and adults. Her clinical approach is informed by Gottman Method Couple's Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and postmodern approaches such as Narrative Therapy, allowing her to meet clients with curiosity, compassion, and respect for their unique stories and lived experiences.

She helps clients navigate these deeply personal experiences with sensitivity and collaboration, offering support as they move through uncertainty, grief, transition, and growth. She also works with children, adolescents, and young adults experiencing depression or anxiety, helping them build insight, coping skills, and a stronger sense of connection.

In addition to her graduate training, Laina is working toward becoming a Certified Reproductive Mental Health Specialist. Through her work, she aims to help clients feel seen, heard, and empowered as they build healthier relationships, deepen self-understanding, and move toward meaningful change.
